Development of renewables and transition to a green economy is a worldwide trend. One of the largest leaders of the exchange industry is going to share its experience in this field with Kazakhstan. Representatives of the London Stock Exchange and the Astana International Financial Center plan to intensify cooperation in renewables. The British experts highlighted that Kazakhstan has great potential to become one of the leaders in attracting green investors. By 2020, the share of renewables will make up 3% of the total amount of electric power production in the country. By 2030, the renewables will make up 10% of the general electric energy. The 53 facilities of green energy with capacity of 2000 megawatts work in Kazakhstan.

According to the United Kingdom ambassador to Kazakhstan, Michael Gifford, green finance projects are economically viable this means that investments in infrastructure will flow from the private sector. He said that the London Stock Exchange is at the epicenter of the global trend. Ambassador Gifford claimed that the UK experts are ready to share their experience and strengthen cooperation with the Astana International Financial Center.
