Kazakhstan’s food producers are boosting export capacities. For example, camel milk will be exported from Mangystau region to the United Arab Emirates.

NURBOL OKUOV, ADVISOR TO CHAIRMAN, MANGYSTAU INDUSTRIAL CHAMBER:

This will be a breakthrough in Mangystau region’s livestock breeding, in particular, in camel breeding. They need more fat in milk. We have 6-7% fat milk, they have 3-4%. They mainly produce confectionery, ice cream and cheese from camel milk.

Kazakhstan’s camel milk will also be exported to European markets in the future along with meat and wool. Special development program has been elaborated for camel breeding development in the region. 174 million tenge will be allocated for its implementation.

TALGAT BALTABEKOV, DEPUTY HEAD OF AGRICULTURE DEPARTMENT:

- We will help everyone, who will bring milk to the processing plants. They will receive money from the plant, and subsidies from us. Last year, we agreed with the management of the garment factory “Atyrau Lana” on wool recycling.

More than 1,500 beekeepers from across the country entered a cooperative created in the eastern Kazakhstan in order to conquer foreign markets. The republican chamber of beekeeping was established on the basis of the new association. According to its specialists, the agricultural cooperation is the key to success.

VALERY KASSYMBAEV, FARMER:

Certainly, the joint work helps to boost our export potential and demand in the large international markets. Small enterprises will not survive there alone, because their commercial batches are small. Retailers don’t want to work with such amounts.

Kazakhstan’s beekeeping products are exported to the United States, the Emirates and China. Entrepreneurs in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region intend to purchase 20 tons of honey in Kazakhstan.

TABYS MURATKHANULY, BUSINESS OWNER, CHINA:

China purchases Kazakhstan’s honey. China’s population is huge, which means there are a lot of consumers. The quality of honey is very high. It was certified by a special laboratory in Shanghai.

Kostanay confectionery, which produces more than 250 kinds of sweets, has won the markets of Russia’s border regions long time ago. 30% out of 65,000 tons of products produced annually is exported.
