More than 44 million tons of oil was exported worldwide through the Caspian Pipeline Consortium system in 2016. Kazakhstan’s product made up the largest part of the export, of which 803,000 tons were produced in Kashagan field.

In total, in 2016, 44.28 million tons of oil was dispatched from the fuel oil terminal to the markets worldwide. That is 435 tankers, which is by 26 tankers more than in 2015, and by 1.5 million tons more than last year. 40.8 million tons of the total volume was produced in Kazakhstan.

In the CIS, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium is one of the largest energy sector investment projects with the participation of foreign capital. It connects the oil fields in the Western Kazakhstan with Novorossiysk Fuel Oil Terminal. The Caspian Pipeline Consortium’s capacities allow to ship up to 67 million tons of oil per year.
