Turkish businessmen are interested in investing in Kazakhstan’s economy. At a Shymkent joint business forum, 500 businessmen of the two countries have expressed interest in opening joint ventures in Kazakhstan. Agricultural projects posed a particular interest. In addition, Turkish businessmen are ready to develop existing productions as well. 18 investment projects worth more than $3 billion have been implemented in South Kazakhstan region. Six of them are financed by Turkish businessmen.

At present, we are studying the local market. We are ready to invest in projects that are both profitable for us and necessary here.

There are 8 partners from Turkey that are interested in the sector of healthcare and public-private partnership. We are now discussing the investment projects regarding the Cancer center and opening of a new hospital, purchasing ambulance vehicles and some other.

A large poultry factory will be constructed in March as part of the Kazakh-Arab partnership. Kazakh specialists and investments of Saudi Arabian businessmen were involved in the implementation of the project worth 85 million euros. First of all, they will construct the poultry yard, hatcheries, and a broiler; feed production will be launched as well. The full production cycle will be organized at the modern facility: from birds breeding to products processing. The production capacity of the complex is 15,000 tons of poultry per year which will be reached in the end of 2018. Later, this figure will be doubled.

ABUNASYR DZHANBATYROV, EXPORT PROMOTION AND AGRICULTURE SPECIALIST:

Implementation of this project will allow us to supply the domestic market with poultry; it is also planned to further export food to the Customs Union countries such as Russia, and neighboring Uzbekistan.

Representatives of the Arab investment group intend to expand cooperation further. At present, the businessmen are interested in financing projects on cattle breeding in the region.
