Presently, the Industrialization Map in eastern Kazakhstan includes 82 projects worth more than 1 trillion tenge. 48 of them have been already put into operation. 7,000 people were employed in the region due to the program of industrial-innovative development. 180 of them were employed at the new plant for production of oriented strand boards in Ust-Kamenogorsk. The plant is the only one in Kazakhstan. The company was launched in February this year, and during that time had already reached half production capacity. The company’s products are designed for the construction of low-rise and private homes. The materials meet all international standards, and the quality is even better than of foreign analogues.

SERGEY SKRIPNIK, CHIEF TECHNOLOGIST:

This is a storey press machine, which allows producing denser plates. Therefore, we produce 6th sheet thickness, which is rarely produced. For instance, such boards are produced in Canada and at EGGER in Austria.

The enterprise produces the plates of the minimum thickness - only 6 millimeters. Neighboring Russia, for example, acquired the production of 9 mm and higher.

DASTAN ZHAILAUBAEV, PRESS OPERATOR:

We produce first grade oriented strand boards. They are of high quality.

In short time, the enterprise has successfully established the production. The plant’s products now are exported to Russia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. But mostly the products satisfy the needs of Kazakhstan’s market. The plant’s management intends to increase the production capacity, oriented at the domestic market.

ALEXANDER VOROBIYEV, DIRECTOR:

We are planning the construction of the second line. Since currently we cover only about 20% of Kazakhstan’s market. We aim to cover the whole market.
