To develop agrarian science, introduce new technologies and make Kazakhstani agricultural products recognizable in the world market: these are the tasks set by Nursultan Nazarbayev in the state of the nation address. German partners are supporting the initiatives of the Kazakh President and are ready to share best practices. The Kazakh delegation visited the international agricultural exhibition "Green Week" in Berlin, where Akylbek Kurishbayev, Rector of Seifullin Kazakh State Agrotechnical University, spoke about the agrarian potential of Kazakhstan.

AKYLBEK KURISHBAYEV, RECTOR, SEIFULLIN KAZAKH STATE AGROTECHNICAL UNIVERSITY:
- Germany occupies one of the leading positions in the introduction of modern technologies. Kazakhstan can adopt some experience from them in this regard. According to German colleagues, the use of precise farming reduces the cost of fertilizer application by 50%, and the use of petroleum products and plant protection products by 25-36%. Imagine how much profit our farmers would receive if we implement it in Kazakhstan. Therefore, the task is the real execution of the Address of the Head of State.

At present, Kazakh State Agrotechnical University is actively cooperating with the world’s leading universities. It is cooperating with Europe’s largest university Weihenstephan as part of dual degree program. The Kazakh State Agrotechnical University opened the center of precise farming jointly with the German company ‘Claas’. In the future, it will be turned into the center of smart agriculture and will disseminate the practice across Kazakhstan.

DIETHARD RUDERT, HEAD OF PROJECT ‘GERMAN-KAZAKH AGRICULTURAL POLICY DIALOGUE’:
- This is a very important platform, where we traditionally discuss cooperation in agriculture. This time we examined how it is possible to increase the export of agricultural products in Kazakhstan, as well as the development of education in the agrarian economy. From our side, we are ready to cooperate and share our experience and technologies.

The exhibition participants agreed to hold the first German-Kazakh agriculture forum in Astana. It will be held this spring at Seifullin Agrotechnical University with the participation of investors and agricultural specialists from Germany and Kazakhstan. The main topic of the forum will be the introduction of new technologies in agriculture and cooperation of agrarian universities.
