Kazakhstan’s food producers are increasing export volumes. Kyzylorda region’s fish processing plant is set to increase production. In Aral district only, seven large newly opened fish processing plants have been equipped with the latest technology. Their annual production capacity is 17,500 tons. Last year, the yield of fisheries was over 7,000 tons; the major part of it was processed and sent to the European countries.

MUKHTAR ORAZBAYEV, GOVERNOR, ARAL DISTRICT:

To increase food exports by 40% by 2021 - this task was set in the Kazakh President's address. Aral district’s plants increase export potential as well. Last year, we exported 179,000 tons of salt and more than 4 million tons of fish that was processed in local plants. This year, we intend to increase these figures twofold.

Dairy producers intend to win the foreign markets too. Export oriented enterprises in East Kazakhstan region plan to conquer the Chinese market and establish a steady supply to Russia in the near future.

MUKHTAR KUL-MUHAMMED, FIRST DEPUTY CHAIRMAN, NUR OTAN PARTY:

East Kazakhstan region was and remains the largest industrial region. The President’s address gives a unique opportunity to local industrial enterprises to modernize their production with the latest high-tech technology.

Akmola region is considered a leader in exports. The region exports wheat and flour to 20 countries worldwide. Last year, the farmers harvested almost 6 million tons of grain. Nearly 2 million tons is already dispatched. Kazakhstan’s flour is valued for the good quality. A new mill was opened in Atbasar last autumn. Its capacity is 150 tons of eco-friendly pure products per day.

AMIR SAGITOV, TECHNOLOGIST:

At present, we are dispatching three railway cars to Tajikistan. We have already dispatched 3,000 tons. We also send it to Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan and throughout Kazakhstan.

The Chinese love Kazakhstan’s honey. Kazakh producers have been exporting this product to the Chinese market for a long time. As the East Kazakhstan’s beekeepers say, the demand for honey grows every year in China. Urzhar bee gardens collected 250 tons of honey in 2016, 150 of them were exported to China.

The nature is very diverse and rich here. Therefore, the quality of the honey is very good. It was even tested in special laboratories. Our beekeepers plan to collect more than 300 tons of honey this year.
