South Korea is expanding cooperation with Kazakhstan’s regions. Partnerships in agriculture, tourism and chemical industry will be developed in the south of Kazakhstan. Agreements were signed during the Kazakh delegation’s visit to Seoul headed by the governor of the South Kazakhstan region, Zhanseit Tuimebayev. There, the Kazakh delegation presented investment opportunities in Kazakhstan to South Korean businessmen.

ZHANSEIT TUIMEBAYEV, GOVERNOR, SOUTH KAZAKHSTAN REGION:
- We have a special tax-free zone in the region. We provide land with the necessity infrastructure in the textile and petrochemical industries and in eleven industrial zones.

The delegation paid visit to modern factories of Seoul. Food additives for instant noodles are produced in this enterprise. Its owner intends to visit South Kazakhstan in June to examine business opportunities.

LEE SOO HYUK, CEO, SOUTH KOREAN COMPANY :
- I heard a lot about Kazakhstan from my Russian partners. I learned that there are a lot of agricultural products and raw materials for pharmaceutical activities in the south of the country. Therefore, I am ready to consider business proposals.

During the visit, agreements were signed on cooperation in a number of areas.

OLZHAS SHYNTAYEV, SPOKESPERSON, TOURISM AND FOREIGN RELATIONS DEPARTMENT, SOUTH KAZAKHSTAN REGION:
- We signed agreements on construction of a paint and varnish factory. We also discussed problems in creating a resort zone in the Saryagash district. The South Korean businessmen are ready to build golf centers and our regional governor has invited them to our region.

Governor Tuimebayev also talked about science in Seoul. He met with the students learning the Kazakh language at a university in Seoul and invited them to Kazakhstan.
