The UK entered the top 10 trade partners of Kazakhstan in terms of turnover and the top six largest investors. The inflow of direct investments from Britain to Kazakhstan has exceeded $12 billion over the past 12 years, since 2005. At the same time, London is ready to increase interaction and promote the development of such sectors of Kazakhstan’s economy as digitalization, new technologies and green energy. This was announced in the capital of the United Kingdom in the meeting of the Kazakh-British Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Cooperation.

CAROLYN BROWNE, UK AMBASSADOR TO KAZAKHSTAN:
- The point about the Kazakh business council with the United Kingdom is to introduce companies to each other and to encourage them to form partnerships and to look at investments into Kazakhstan.

The Kazakh side highlighted that Kazakhstan is interested in advanced British technologies and innovations that could help in implementing Kazakhstan's industrial and innovative program.

SAPARBEK TUYAKBAYEV, CHAIRMAN, KAZAKH INVEST:
- In general, it is expected to attract investments not only in traditional oil and gas sector as it was before, but also into the new manufacturing industries: metal processing, food industry, and IT technologies.

A number of bilateral and partnership agreements have been signed as part of the meeting of the Kazakh-British Intergovernmental Commission on Trade-Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Cooperation. Among them are the provision of research services and cooperation in the field of smart technologies.
