Gaziza Zhubanova's Kazakh State String Quartet gave a concert in Astana Opera. The team consists of talented musicians Aidar Toktaliyev, Aleksei Lebedev, Bekzat Sailaubaiuly and Ernar Myntayev. Performance featured the 18th and 20h centuries' compositions. Spectators were presented the works of Mozart, the contemporary American composer Samuel Barber, and Gaziza Zhubanova. Musicians say that regardless of where they perform - in Kazakhstan or abroad, their program always includes Kazakh compositions.

The team was created in 1988 by the students of Akhmet Zhubanov's Republican secondary specialized school for gifted children. Then the musicians continued their education in European universities together with renowned artists. After having gained experience in the best schools of the world, the string quartet has acquired its own unique sounding. Today, their performing art captivates music lovers around the world.

Foreigners love our music. We promote Kazakh composers all over the world. This sort of music is new and unique abroad. As they say, this is a rich deposit of steppe cultural heritage, such a unique sound.

At present, Gaziza Zhubanova's String Quartet performs on the world's best stages. The team will soon tour to Italy and the U.S.
