This year we are celebrating the 90th anniversary of the issuing of the first post stamp in Mongolia. On the occasion of this event, national philatelic exhibition entitled “Mongolian Postage Stamp-90th anniversary’ was opened at the National Museum of Mongolian History.
The exhibition displays about 800 stamp collections that have been made by 11 participants.
For example, the first series of stamps called ‘Eldev-Ochir’ shows historic periods of the Mongolian society, so those who visit the exhibition have the better chance to understand the history of both of Mongols and Mongolia. Mongolian post stamps differ in colour combination and national ornament from post stamps issued in more than 200 countries
Young girl Misheel started collecting stamps when she was 6 years old and to these days she had participated in the 24 philatelic exhibitions at continental and world level. Now she is going to take part in the exhibition that will be held in April of 2015 in Taiwan.
Misheel-The most expensive original sample in my collection is a stamp trace which was presented to me by cosmonaut Mr Gurragchaa personnaly. The stamp trace can be used only in space area. Another interesting thing is a heartbeat diagram performed for him before going into space.
8 year old boy Bilguun was the youngest participant of the exhibition who has over 300 stamp collections. This time he is participating in the exhibition with his stamp collection called “Mom's and son's happiness”.
A.Bilguun- I have about 50 stamp collections. The most valuable thing in my collections is a post stamp with image of Queen Victoria issued in 1851. This was the first time in the world when a portrait of woman was described in the stamp.
