The Mongolian folk band “Arga Bileg” has been nominated for the 58th Grammy Awards with their album “Agula”.
The Arga Bileg band presents jazz music in a traditional, Mongolian folk context using traditional Mongolian and western music instruments to create new compositions.
At present, “Arga Bileg” is co-operating with “Musiques Suisses” from Switzerland and this studio is responsible for promoting the album “Agula” to international audiences and producers. The studio submitted “Agula” for consideration for the 2016 Grammy Awards. But it is not clear whether the band will participate in the award ceremony.
The album went on sale in February, 2015 in online stores such as ITunes, Amazon,Spotify and et.
And in the past ten years, the Swiss Development Cooperation Agency has played a significant role in supporting and sponsoring projects like “Аgula”, in partnership with the Arts Council of Mongolia.
