The 852nd anniversary of birth of the Great Chinggis Khaan--the National Pride Day was celebrated nationwide on November 23.
The ceremony of paying tribute to the State Flag and the Great White Banners was held at the Chinggis Khaan Square. The Nine White Banners were placed on the Square of Chingis Khaan after which nine guards of Honor--all on horses--carried them one time around the State House, with a ceremonial music and protected by the state Guard troops.
After this, the Nine White Banners were placed back in the Protocol and Honor hall of the State House.
After the ceremony, President Mr Ts.Elbegdorj, Chairman of the State Great Khural Mr Z.Enkhbold, Prime Minister Mr Ch.Saikhanbileg, members of parliament, Government members and citizens’ representatives paid tribute to the Statue of Chinggis Khaan.
On the same day, on occasion of the Day of National Pride--the supreme Order of Chingis Khaan was presented to famous scientist Mr Namsrai according to a decree of the President Ts.Elbegdorj.
Present at the ceremony were also Mr Z.Enkhbold, the Speaker of parliament; Mr Ch.Saikhanbileg, the Prime Minister; those who received the Order before; and state, social and religious figures.
During the ceremony, President Mr Elbegdorj and Mr Namsrai delivered speeches.
