Kazakhstan is strengthening trade and economic relations with Singapore. As Kazakh ambassador to Singapore Usen Suleimen noted, trade turnover between the countries made up $73 million in just nine months of this year. At present, the two states are interested in expanding partnership. First of all, it is planned to expand investment cooperation. A bilateral agreement on the promotion and mutual protection of investments is expected to be signed in the first half of next year. The agreement will give a new impetus to cooperation, the diplomat said.

USEN SULEIMEN, KAZAKH AMBASSADOR TO SINGAPORE:
- We are planning to hold a large Kazakhstani-Singapore business forum as part of Prime Minister Sagintayev’s visit to Singapore. The forum is named ‘Kazakhstan’s investment climate - Hidden opportunities of Singapore and of the Asia-Pacific region’. The goal is to bring 150-200 Kazakh entrepreneurs and organize a road show, so that representatives of such large companies as Samruk-Kazyna, Kazakh Invest, Baiterek and Atameken could make a presentation.

The Ambassador has also notified that the term of a visa-free stay between Kazakhstan and Singapore may increase from 15 to 30 days. A direct flight will be launched between Astana and Singapore in 2019.
