Nursultan Nazarbayev’s book ‘The Era of Independence’ recounts the construction stages of a sovereign state, and the challenges the young republic had faced to achieve the present success. The publication reflects the newest history of Kazakhstan in the genre of journalism. The head of state shares his views on what is happening, as well as the future of the country.

MUKHTAR KUL-MUHAMMED, FIRST DEPUTY CHAIRMAN OF NUR OTAN PARTY:
- I can confidently say that our President’s book is an encyclopedia of our independence; it covers all aspects of our life, from political and economic spheres to spiritual modernization. All the main points of the three modernization stages with opinions and in-depth analysis of the Head of our state, the founder of our state, are given in this book.

This is not just a book or a chronology of events. This is the disclosure of logic and decision-making mechanisms. How the Head of State chooses the course of domestic and foreign policy, how Kazakhstan's relations with the world's leading powers are built. The book shows the essence of the Kazakh development model, its evolution, and strength. The author considers three waves of Kazakhstan’s modernization. The first and second modernization brought the republic to the market economy. The third modernization is aimed at joining the ranks of the top 30 most developed countries.

YERZHAN BABAKUMAROV, DEPUTY HEAD OF OFFICE OF PRIME MINISTER OF KAZAKHSTAN:
- This is not just a book. This is President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s view on the history of the country and its future, the analysis of the events that took place over 26 years: not only facts, but also interpretation. The book contains invaluable experience of practical state governance and strategic planning. And in this respect it is a kind of national platform for optimism and confidence in the future.

The narrative is divided into four periods: "Birth of the State"; "Great overcoming"; "On a steep rise" and "The State", and encompasses the period from 2010 to the present time. The book reflects Kazakhstan's aspiration to build a multi-vector policy, to participate in all global initiatives, including setting world trends.

DARKHAN KYDYRALI, CHAIRMAN, REPUBLICAN NEWSPAPER ‘EGEMEN KAZAKHSTAN’:
- The formation and creation of Kazakhstan are described in chronological order. Nursultan Nazarbayev divides the modernization of the country into three stages. He describes the development of each sphere in detail. Readers can see how problems have arisen, and what titanic work has been done and experience has been used to solve them.

ERLAN SYDYKOV, RECTOR, GUMILYOV EURASIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY:
- Firstly, this book must be introduced into the curriculum as soon as possible. It should be offered to university and school students. Secondly, it is necessary to translate this edition into the official UN languages, thus, presenting it to the whole world. We should also create digital versions of the book. I believe that we should conduct cultural and political events dedicated to "The Era of Independence" by Nursultan Nazarbayev.

According to those who have read the book by the Head of State, it will help to better understand the history of the first decades of Kazakhstan’s independence, as well as to see a detailed account of its future. Nursultan Nazarbayev lists 33 main results achieved in the country. The work ends with words, which can be called the main motto of the published work: "The great history creates the great future". The most important lesson that the history of independent Kazakhstan gives us is that it is possible to halt any negative trends and achieve the highest goals.
