The Erdenet mining corporation and the Oyutolgoi LLC established a cooperation memorandum. The two big mines, ranking among top in the world by copper resources, will work together in the areas of employees’ healthcare, safety operation, environmental protection and relations with local communities. The signing ceremony was attended by Parliament Speaker Z.Enkhbold.
Addressing the event, Oyutolgoi LLC President and CEO Andrew Woodley said the bilateral cooperation will not be restricted with the mutual benefits for the two parties, but it will make a huge contribution to the development of the mining industry of Mongolia as through this the latest standards of the foreign countries with highly developed mining industry will be naturalized.
On the other hands, opportunities open up for promoting joint incentives and ideas for improving potential of the mining sector of Mongolia. In addition, the parties sees many other forms of cooperation including exchange of experiences in regional development strategy planning.
