Today, on the 10th of December, according to the decree of the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj, the State Prize has been awarded to the "A Sound of Bell" song, a symbolic song of Mongolian democracy. The award was given on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the democratic revolution in Mongolia.
The award was handed over to the family of late S.Tsogtsaikhan who created both the lyrics and melody of the song and sang it himself in 1989. At the handing over ceremony of the prize there were present Tsogtsaikhan’s spouse N.Natasha and his co-singer N.Enkhbayar.
"The Sound of the Bell' touched the hearts of Mongolians, this was a wake-up call to the nation urging them to undertake dramatic political actions. It has not lost its significance yet" said the President.
