The Fourth Regional Workshop is taking place from 5th to 7th of November 2014 in Ulaanbaatar in the context of the project “Integrated Resource Management in Asian Cities: the Urban Nexus”, implemented by the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and ESCAP /United Nations Economic and Socail Commission for Asia and the Pacific/ and financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ
About 100 participants representing 10 partner cities in Asia, representatives from regional networks of cities, international and regional experts, and the private sector enterprises are attending the three-day regional workshop.
Three Regional Workshops have been organized under the project so far, in 2013 in Bangkok, Thailand and in 2014 in Da Nang, Viet Nam. These workshops reviewed state-of-the-art technologies on Nexus approaches and discussed progress of Nexus project initiatives by participating cities to date.
It also provided an opportunity for city governments to enter into a dialogue with national governments and other relevant stakeholders and discuss the elements of an enabling framework for urban nexus initiatives to thrive.
