The VII Ministerial conference of the Community of Democracies held on April 27-29, 2013 in Ulaanbaatar, the capital city of Mongolia.
Within three days the delegates from all corners of the World discussed issues on democracy education, corruption danger to democracy, as well as experiences and lessons of democracies.

The State and Government Heads of 12 countries and worldwide recognized state and public figures attended the conference as honorable guests of the President of Mongolia. Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi, leader of Burmese democratic movement was one of those who are in the center of attention of the participants in the forum. She distinguished by the Geremek Award for Most Outstanding Contribution to Democracy and Award of Chairing Country of Community of Democracies. Also, the Palmer Prize was awarded to three diplomats, including Mongolian Ambassador-at-Large Suren Badral, the former Ambassador of Sweden to Belarus Stefan Eriksson and Christopher Stevens, U.S. Ambassador to Libya killed in September 2012. The prize was handed over by the president of the Council for a Community of Democracies Robert LaGamma.

Furthermore, the President of the USA Barak Obama sent his greeting to the Conference of CD.

In his closing speech, the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj highlighted an active participation of women leaders as Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, Ms. Ashton, Ms. Aung San Suu Kyi, Ms. Tawakkol Karman in the conference. “Freedom for human is pressed down sometimes, but willingness to live in freedom is revived once again. I think my motherland is lightening torch of democracy. Mongolians wish to help the others in tearing down walls and iron curtains of any dictatorship” said the President Elbegdorj.

Mongolia has decided to make the contribution of US$150 thousand each year in order to further continue its role and participation in the Community as well as give support to this world-recognized movement.

Mongolia has been chairing the Community of Democracies since 2011 and the next chairman of CD is El Salvador. At the closing ceremony of the conference, the President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj handed over the flag of CD to the Minister of El Salvador, Juan Jose Garcia.
