The ceremony to award Great Patriotic War jubilee medals to the Mongolian veterans took place on Monday at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Mongolia. According to the decree issued by Russian President Mr Putin a total of 347 Mongolian veterans participated in the 1941-1945 Great Patriotic War will receive the medal of the 70th anniversary of the Victory.
At the ceremony Russian ambassador to Mongolia Mr Azizov handed over the medals to 55 mongolian veterans living in Ulaanbaatar. The others will be bestowed until 9th of May.
In his speech at the ceremony, Mr Azizov noted “together we were engaged in active patriotic deeds in 1941-1945 and now we are celebrating the 70th Anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Mongolian soldiers have made a big contribution to the victory”. Russian Ambassador wished on behalf of the Government of the Russian Federation good health and long life to the veterans.

State Secretary of the Defence Ministry of Mongolia major general Mr Z.Boldbaatar and other officials were present at the ceremony.
The next handing over ceremony will be held on the 24th of March.
