President of Mongolia Mr Elbegdorj delivered remarks at the 21st International Conference on the Future of Asia which ran Thursday at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo, Japan.
The Conference is being held under the topic “Asia Beyond 2015: The Quest for Lasting Peace and Prosperity”. Famous political leaders of the world and prominent public figures attend the Conference, annually organized by the Nihon Keizai Shimbun Inc /Nikkei /. Nikkei started the Conference in 1995, with participation of prominent Asian leaders including the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew, one of the greatest thinkers of our time.
For instance, United States Secretary of State Ms Hillary Clinton, Chairperson and General Secretary of the National League for Democracy of Myanmar Ms Aung San Suu Kyi and other well-known people attended the event in recent years.

This year, President Elbegdorj was invited to the annual “Future of Asia” conference as chief guest.
At the beginning of his speech, Mongolian President thanked Nikkei and Japan Center of Economic Research for giving him the opportunity to attend the event.
He emphasized that the 21st century is regarded as the Asian century. Asia’s presence and role in global affairs has grown beyond expectations and it is predicted to further heighten. Mr Elbegdorj has also noted that building mutual trust, promoting stronger ties and regional integration among all nations of Asia will enhance prospects for Asia’s success.
