Europeans can now learn about new facts and previously unknown details about the triumphant success of the great Kazakh singer Amre Kashaubaev from the new book. A presentation of the collection "Amre in Paris" was held in Astana. Author Zharkyn Shakarim devoted this edition to the upcoming exhibition EXPO 2017. The book is designed for a wide audience, and features both previously published materials about the singer and rare documents and photographs.

ARYSTANBEK MUKHAMEDIULY, KAZAKH MINISTER OF CULTURE AND SPORTS:

This book features new facts that have not been published before, and of course these facts have a historical foundation. We should truly be proud of Amre Kashaubaev and his achievements.

The book comes with a CD with unique songs recorded during Amre Kashaubaev’s performance in the world exposition in Paris in 1925.

ZHARKYN SHAKARIMOV, BOOK AUTHOR:

I stumbled upon the collection of Amre’s songs recorded in a primitive phonograph in Moscow’s archive in 1974. In 1975, the record company released the records ion a vinyl. Now for the first time they will be available on a CD in the book "Amre in Paris!"

A feature film "Amre" was shot based on Zharkyn Shakarim’s book. The joint Kazakh-American project tells the story of a bright life of a tenor, who first introduced the Kazakhs vocal and performing arts to the European audience. The film will be screened in June this year.
