Countries around the world have launched massive aid operations to help victims of the Nepal earthquake that affected 8 mln people.
The Mongolian Red Cross society which is the 84th member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent societies has also launched a fundraising campaign that encourages mongolians to help the people of Nepal.
Mongolian Red Cross society organized number of other similar campaigns dedicated to help people in other countries who suffered from natural disasters. For example, in 2011 the society managed to collect nearly 280 mln tugrics for the victims of tsunami disaster in Japan.
Moreover, 1.5 mln tugrics were donated by the pupils of the British school of Ulaanbaatar for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan that struck Philippines in November 2013.
