The three millionth citizen of Mongolia was born on the 24th of January, 2015. A babygirl born in the general hospital of Dalanzadgad of Omnogovi aimag, to the family of Khatanbold Enkhtuvshin, the father, and Azzaya Ganbat, the mother, was identified as the three millionth Mongolian. One hundred and eighty one children were born on the same day, becoming the age-mates of the three-millionth citizen. Three of these children were born in the USA.
Government of Mongolia has decided to award a child who was identified as the three millionth citizen of Mongolia with an apartment worth up to 70 million togrog, and her age-mates with one-time cash benefits equivalent to three million Togrog. President Elbegdorj bestowed on the newborn babygirl a name “Mongoljin”, at the request of her parents.
Population of Mongolia reached one million in 1963, and two million in 1988. At the time, 25 children were identified to be the two-millionth citizens and were prized with 2-room apartments.
First of all, I am very happy that the three-millionth citizen was born. My mother says she gave birth to me, with much complication. She says she had been quite surprised when people burst in with buckets of flowers in their hands, when she had no knowledge that she gave birth to the two-millionth citizen of Mongolia. Becoming the two-millionth citizen has been giving me luck my whole life.
The three-millionth citizen of Mongolia will be glorified and prized officially on the 30th of January.
