“Cooperation between the Azerbaijani and Ethiopian media can pave the way for a direct news exchange between the two countries,” said Director General of AZERTAC Aslan Aslanov as he met with Chief Executive Officer of Fana Broadcasting Corporate Woldu Baraki, who will attend the 5th Baku International Humanitarian Forum.

“Ethiopia is one of the leading countries in the African continent. AZERTAC is interested in establishing relations with news agencies and other media of this country,” he said.

Mr Aslanov said the participation of Ethiopian news agencies in the 5th News Agencies World Congress to be held in Baku in November will open new opportunities for relations.

He also provided an insight into the democratic reforms carried out in Azerbaijan. “The media in Azerbaijan enjoy all freedoms and independence thanks to these reforms,” he added.

Woldu Baraki said he was impressed with the development that Azerbaijan has achieved during the independence years. He also hailed the freedom of press and tolerance in Azerbaijan.
