Mongolian delegation led by Mr Z.Enkhbold, Chairman of the Great State Khural has paid an official visit to Beijing at the invitation of the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National Congress of the PRC Mr Zhang Dejiang.
On the first day of his visit, Mr Enkhbold paid courtesy call to the President of PRC Mr Xi Jinping. At the beginning of the meeting the state head of the PRC thanked Mr Enkhbold for paying an official visit and expressed his satisfaction on current relations between the two countries.
In his turn, the Speaker of Mongolian parliament conveyed warm greetings of the President of Mongolia Mr Elbegdorj to Mr Xi Jinping.
Recalling the state visit of Mr Xi Jinping to Mongolia in August and the trilateral meeting of the leaders of Mongolia, China and Russia in Dushanbe of Tajikistan, he expressed a satisfaction with the expansion of the relations on all-round strategic level, as well with high level interactions of Mongolia and China in the last years.
Mr Enkhbold also requested the Chinese side to free a coal export of Mongolia from a tax “because it affects our already pressured coal exporting companies”. He said Mongolia intends to build big power stations and a gasification plant on its large coal mines, and is interested in expanding a cooperation with Chinese companies in these activities. An establishment of the Mongolia-China General Agreement on electricity import and export is necessary, the Speaker stressed.
Mr Enkhbold also said he is pleased to note that the ASEM Summit of 2014 had assigned a right to Mongolia to organize the next Summit in 2016, and thanked China for supporting Mongolia on this matter.
On the same day, the Speaker of parliament Mr Z.Enkhbold met with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) of China Mr Zhang Dejiang. Mr Enkhbold appreciated that the relations between Mongolia and China have been expanding in all spheres and that a trust has been deepening, noting that friendly relations with China are always a priority in Mongolia’s foreign policy.
In his turn, Mr Zhang Dejiang said the mutual interactions of Mongolia and China have been becoming more regular, and that there are cooperation opportunities letting the two countries act complementary for each other.
After these talks, Mr Z.Enkhbold and Mr Zhang Dejiang signed the Memorandum of Understanding on setting up a regular mechanism of cooperation between the State Great Khural of Mongolia and the Standing Committee of China’s National People’s Congress.
