ASEM Senior Officials’ meeting opened in Ulaanbaatar on Thursday. The two-day meeting is one of the major events held within the ASEM Summit which will be held in July in Ulaanbaatar.
During the meeting, its participants will review and elaborate contents of documents to be issued by the 11th ASEM Summit. The Summit is set to release the ASEM 20th anniversary document, the Ulaanbaatar Declaration and the Statement of Chair Country. The participants of the will also hold discussion on an initiative to establish ASEM center in Ulaanbaatar.

- As a host country, Mongolia has initiated to build up a structure that would enable information share between the member states and organizations. However, the center will not be as big as secretariat. Our initiative is greatly applauded by partner states.
The meeting is attended by a total of 170 delegates from 51 partner states and organizations.They will discuss proposal and initiative on cooperation forwarded by Partner countries and leads-up to ministerial meeting to be held in sideline of the ASEM Summit
