Baku, January 16 (AzerTAc). Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Slovenian Prime Minister Janez Jansa have met in private.
The President recalled his meeting with the Slovenian Premier during NATO`s Chicago Summit and their discussions around prospects for the cooperation between the two countries.
President Ilham Aliyev said there was big potential for the development of the Azerbaijan-Slovenia relations. The Head of State expressed confidence the Slovenian Premier`s visit would be a success and give impetus to expanding the bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and other fields and building strong partner relations.
Slovenian Premier Janez Jansa pointed out to the fact that he was accompanied by a large delegation, saying it was very important for the bilateral economic relations. The Prime Minister emphasized the significance of the cooperation agreements to be signed during an Azerbaijan-Slovenia business forum. Janez Jansa said there ample opportunities for developing the bilateral relations even further.
The meeting was then joined by the two countries` delegations.
President Ilham Aliyev praised the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Slovenia in the political field and in terms of international cooperation.
The Azerbaijani leader thanked the Slovenian government for supporting Azerbaijan`s cooperation with the European Union and NATO, and noted the importance of the two countries` collaboration within international organizations.
President Ilham Aliyev said economic cooperation played a pivotal role in expanding the Azerbaijan-Slovenia relations. The Head of State stressed the necessity of exploring opportunities for developing the relations in the economic, investment making and other fields.
The Slovenian Premier praised the fact that the two countries fulfilled all their agreements since holding discussions at NATO`s Chicago Summit.
Janez Jansa said Slovenia praised Azerbaijan`s position in the region. He stressed the importance of Azerbaijan`s activities in the UN Security Council.
The Slovenian Premier noted the significance of expanding the economic relations, adding both countries were interested in this.
