Moscow, September 20 (AzerTAc). The Organization of the Asia-Pacific News Agencies` (OANA) running 3-time Bureau member, Director General of AzerTAc Aslan Aslanov has been elected as Vice-President of this international organization.
The decision was adopted at the 15th OANA General Assembly, which was held in Moscow bringing together 44 news agencies from 35 countries.
The attendees saw secret ballot for determination of a host agency for the 16th OANA General Assembly. Majority of members of the organization voted for AzerTAc`s candidacy, making Baku as a host city for the next General Assembly in 2016. So, AzerTAc will lead the OANA in 2016-2019.
AzerTAc`s Director General thanked new president of OANA, Director General of Russian ITAR-TASS News Agency Sergei Mikhailov, new Secretary General Mikhail Gusman, former President, Director General of Turkish Anadolu Agency Kamal Ozturk, former Secretary General Ercan Gocek and heads of other information agencies, who supported AzerTAc, and invited them to Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan, to attend the 16th OANA General Assembly in 2016.
