These days Mongolia is hosting ASEM consultative meeting on food security. Three key topics are addressed at the meeting, particularly, the food industry, the food safety and the nutrition.
On the first day of the meeting the participants made presentations on improving food supply in ASEM member states, organic food production of agricultural origin, their guarantee, genetically modified food products and tendency, the food production of animal and plant origin and trans-boundary animal diseases.
In recognizing the fact that Asia is a mega market for export, the ASEM members is focusing on shaping a flow in this direction. The participants are noting that instead of designing 28 different rules, an only general rule is easier to observe and much conducive to securing food safety.
