Experts discuss Central Asian transport capacity. In Almaty, Experts from five countries discuss the opportunities to expand cooperation at the forum organized by the U.S. Agency for International Development and the German Society for International Cooperation. According to the USAID, at present, the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and its nearest neighbors totals about 5% of GDP. Nevertheless, the potential for economic cooperation is much higher. In order to simplify cargo transportation between Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, two international organizations have developed a five-year program on promotion economic development, facilitation of trade procedures and creation of favorable conditions for entrepreneurs. It provides for the introduction of modern technologies that facilitate quick border processes.
