International dialogue between Islamic countries is crucial to maintain global stability. Kazakhstan, known for its peacekeeping initiatives, supports the matter within the framework of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). At the 38th session of the council in Astana in 2011, President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev proposed the establishment of the . Today, the Secretariat of this structure has started to function in Astana.

KAIRAT ABDRAKHMANOV, KAZAKH FOREIGN MINISTER:
- Nursultan Nazarbayev initiated this structure. Today, this agreement has been ratified by 10 states and entered into legal force. The Secretariat of the Organization for Food Security was launched in Astana.

The OIC, as a major structure of the Muslim world, is an important partner in the international arena for strategic dialogues on peace and security. The organization supports specific solutions proposed by Kazakhstan on these topics.

- One of the important initiatives is to unite the countries of the Islamic world to solve the problem of the shortage of quality food. This endeavor is supported by the Islamic world. This can help solve the problems of a number of Asian and African countries.

The main goal of Kazakhstan’s initiative is the integration of transport and logistics systems through special programs of the Islamic Development Bank for Central Asia, Africa, the Middle East and North Africa. A new impetus will be given to the implementation of the Kazakhstan’s Nurly Zhol program and China's One Belt, One Road initiative.
