Mongolia’s Prime Minister Ch.Saikhanbileg worked in Russia on June 17-19th to attend the . The former Prime Minister N.Altankhuyag took part in the forum last year.
Mr Saikhanbileg’s main goal was to settle the ongoing technical disputes in the Mongolia-Russia joint ventures. This issue was discussed during his meeting with the Russian president Vladimir Putin. The meeting was extended by 20 minutes from its intended timing, concerning many issues on economy, business and investment cooperation.
The dignitaries agreed to promote the joint ventures and give the decision-making power to the Boards of Directors. Russian president also said that the Mongolia-Russia agreement on meat exports is bound to become great opportunity for Mongolia, a country which has some 60 million livestock.
Mongolian Prime Minister expressed an interest in taking support from Russia on the gas pipelines’ passing through Mongolia, and on involving the joint ventures in building dual railroads in Mongolia.
After this, the Premier Saikhanbileg and the Chairman of the Eurasian Commission Khristenko signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between Mongolia and the Eurasain Economic Commission.
The Premier considers his visit to Russia as an impetus to implementation of the major goals before Mongolia and Russia cooperation.
