The state visit of Mr Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, to Mongolia officially began Sunday. He arrived in Ulaanbaatar on Saturday evening.
On Saturday, Mr Narendra Modi was received by the Chairman of the State Great Khural Mr Z.Enkhbold.
On Sunday, the high guest was welcomed by the Prime Minister of Mongolia Mr Saikhanbileg at Chingis Khaan Square. The official visit has coincided with the 60th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between Mongolia and India and with the 25th anniversary of Mongolian democratic revolution.
On the same day, Indian PM Mr Narendra Modi paid a courtesy call on the President Mr Ts.Elbegdorj at the State House.
Within his state visit to Mongolia, the Prime Minister of the Republic of India Mr Narendra Modi delivered a speech at a honorary meeting of the parliamentary session on Sunday.
In his speech he emphasized “Asia has given much to the world through the ages. It now has the responsibility to shape its future”. He also noted that “the convergence of Buddhism and democracy provides us a path to build an Asia of peace and cooperation, harmony and equality”.
On the same day, the government officials of Mongolia and of the Republic of India inked 14 cooperation documents at the State House.
During the ceremony, the Indian Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi has announced a credit line of one billion USD to Mongolia for expanding its economic capacity and improving infrastructure.
Within his visit, Mr Narendra Modi paid a tribute and obeisance at the Gandan Tegchinlen monastery in Ulaanbaatar. He handed a Bodhi tree sapling to the monastery's Khamba Lama D.Choijamts.
Prime Minister of India accompanied by his Mongolian counterpart Mr Saikhanbileg visited the Mongolian University of Science and Technology and laid a foundation of the Information Technology, Communication and Outsourcing Center named after Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

Mr Narendra Modi also attended a ceremony for handing over to the National Oncology Center a radiotherapy simulator and tele-cobalt machine Bhabhatron-II for cancer treatment, which were designed by Indian scientists.
Afterwards, a mini “Naadam” festival was organized for the Indian PM at the “Chingisiin Khuree” leisure complex. Mr Modi watched the three manly games of Mongolia – wrestling, horse-race and archery. There were other performances such as contortions and traditional music performances.
