Astana hosted an international technical meeting on the settlement of the military conflict in Syria. The UN and Jordan experts participated in the joint group meeting, which included Russia, Turkey and Iran. Summing up the meeting, the head of the Russian delegation, Stanislav Gadzhimagomedov noted that the sides discussed the measures of mutual trust and smooth flow of humanitarian aid. Delegations confirmed their readiness to continue cooperation to hold ceasefire in Syria. The meeting participants expressed their sincere gratitude to the Kazakh side for providing a negotiation platform as part of the Astana Process.

Delegations confirmed their readiness to continue cooperation for the cessation of hostilities in Syria. All members of the delegation expressed their sincere gratitude to Kazakhstan for providing a negotiations platform and creation of favorable conditions for the joint group’s first meeting on control of ceasefire in Syria.

In January, in Astana, during the negotiations on Syrian conflict, Iran, Russia and Turkey agreed on a trilateral mechanism to monitor the ceasefire in Syria.
