Diplomats discussed Kazakhstan’s ongoing reforms aimed at improving the efficiency of political system. This was announced by the Kazakh Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov at a meeting with the accredited foreign diplomats. The Minister told the ambassadors about the key proposals of the Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev on the constitutional reform and basic theses of the annual President's address to the nation. The Minister said that the large-scale reforms in the political and socio-economic spheres are aimed at ensuring further progress in Kazakhstan’s development. In addition, the Minister emphasized the government’s openness to a broad discussion of the proposed amendments to Kazakhstan’s Constitution with the citizens.

KAIRAT ABDRAKHMANOV, KAZAKH FOREIGN MINISTER:

The outcoming reform is based on the principles of our development and principles of modern development in general as soon as we are going to follow the path which many nations and mature democracies passed through. One of the key messages on behalf of my President is to delegate some powers from President of Kazakhstan Parliament to Parliament and the government. And this reform is aimed at improving the efficiency also of the executive system.

Kazakh Foreign Minister also drew attention to the creation of the most favorable conditions for the development of innovation and technology industries in Kazakhstan. He urged ambassadors to inform their governments about new prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation with Kazakhstan.
