In New York, international experts and representatives of the UN member countries discussed Kazakh president Nursultan Nazarbayev’s initiatives on the Code of Conduct towards Achieving a World Free of Terrorism. Participants praised Kazakhstan’s international counterterrorism efforts and acknowledged the importance and timeliness of Nursultan Nazarbayev’s initiative of adopting this important document. The meeting participants also noted that the Code of Conduct will strengthen implementation of the UN Security Council and the General Assembly resolutions. All the UN regional groups were represented at the negotiating table. They took part in proposing concrete solutions and approaches to the development of the Code.

- Terrorism and violent extremism is a concern of a global nature, of a complexity never seen before. And that is asking definitely for comprehensive global and very fine-tuned approach. Well, I wish first and foremost the government and the authority of Kazakhstan a lot of success with this very well-timed initiative. So this initiative must have as an aim to go for, to strive for the world free of terrorism.
