Relations between Kazakhstan and Slovakia are expanding. Over the past 25 years of friendship, a trustful all-round strategic and mutually beneficial partnership connects the countries. Favorable conditions have been created for development of trade, economy, health and culture. Officials of Bratislava are interested in increasing cooperation in the machine-building sector and nuclear energy. In addition, the parties have agreed on the exchange of professional staff.

MAREK SAFIN, SENIOR STAFF, MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AND EUROPEAN AFFAIRS OF SLOVAKIA:
- Slovakia has very good experiences in water resources management. This is a sensitive question in Central Asia. Kazakhstan is not indifferent to us, and we are very interested in what is happening there. We are also interested in the further development of our relations.

Parliamentary diplomacy contributes to the strong bilateral interaction. Inter parliamentary friendship groups have been created in the highest legislative bodies of the two countries. The parties showed their confidence that the investment climate of both countries is favorable for new projects that are beneficial to the Kazakh and Slovak businesses. For example, a joint poultry factory is being built in the Aktobe region.

SAYAN KULZHANOV, SPOKESPERSON, EMBASSY OF KAZAKHSTAN IN BRATISLAVA:
- Our main goal is to develop economic diplomacy. Therefore, we try to attract investors. There is a gradual increase in joint enterprises. Now there are more than 30 companies with participation of the Slovak capital in Kazakhstan.

Experts in nuclear energy see prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation. Kazakhstan has consolidated the world leadership in uranium production and has its own way of developing the nuclear industry.

DUSAN PODGORSKY, AMBASSADOR OF SLOVAK REPUBLIC TO KAZAKHSTAN (2005-2011YY.):
- We have two large nuclear power plants. Now two new blocks are about to finish. You have a great national nuclear center in Kurchatov with the most advanced developments and new reactors of the fifth generation. We need to exchange experts and scientists.

One of the youngest countries in Europe and already the most developed in the world, Slovakia has the policy similar to the one in Kazakhstan. Both states are trying to contribute to the consolidation of peace and global security.
