Kazakhstan is heading the three most responsible Sanctions Committee of the UN Security Council to combat international terrorist groups. The UN Security Council devoted its next agenda to these important topics. The keynote speaker was Kairat Umarov, Permanent spokesperson from Kazakhstan to the United Nations. He spoke about the activities of the Sanctions Committee and the threat posed by terrorist attacks. The diplomat highlighted the measures aimed at intensifying cooperation of the UN member states with the sanctions regime.

- The chair undertakes visits to selected countries. I visited Malaysia and Singapore from 28 to 31 of August and Afghanistan. The security agencies and law enforcement organizations and Tashkent, Uzbekistan to attend the 5th scientific and practical conference of the regional anti-terrorist structure of the Shanghai cooperation organization titled ‘Fighting Terrorism, Counter-Terrorism Cooperation’. Such visits help the committee to obtain first hand accounts regarding the implementation and effectiveness of sanctions’ measures to promote enhanced dialogue and engagement.
