International experts and politicians appraise successful activity of Kazakhstan as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. The republic headed several committees and participated in the adoption of an important decision aimed at maintaining global security. In the upcoming year, Kazakhstan will become chairman of this important authoritative organization. The country is actively pursuing a peacekeeping policy and is stepping up efforts to strengthen stability in the world.

RASHID ALIMOV, SCO SECRETARY GENERAL:
- Kazakhstan represents not only itself, but all the states of Central Asia, and the SCO member states along with Russia and China. This, of course, strengthens the SCO's position, not to mention the positions of Kazakhstan itself. President Nursultan Nazarbayev's initiatives, Kazakhstan's initiatives in the international arena are, above all, initiatives related to ensuring peace, security and stability not only in the Central Asian region, the vast Eurasian space, but also in the globe.

Executive Secretary of the Organization of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization, Lassina Zerbo, noted the feasible contribution of Kazakhstan and the President of the country in promoting ideas on the ban of nuclear testing on the planet and wished peace and prosperity to Kazakhstan.

LASSINA ZERBO, CTBTO EXECUTIVE SECRETARY:
- Kazakhstan is on the right path for contributing to international peace and stability and that’s what we hope, especially in this geopolitical context. I mean having a country that is trying to lead for peace and stability is always helpful, and we want to contribute like this, in that order with the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty, Kazakhstan is a good student of the CTBT. We want them to have passed to get the CTBT legally binding so that nuclear test is history.
