“Azerbaijan is a country contributing to international cooperation and having some responsibilities in this area”, the Secretary General of the Socialist International Luis Ayala said as he gave an interview to AzerTAc.

Noting that he visited the country several times, Luis Ayala stressed that the Azerbaijani State and people do great deal of work in favor of development and progress. The political system is being developed. The situation in the last presidential elections showed it once again, he said. Expressing satisfaction with the multi-party political system in Azerbaijan, the Secretary General said the system advances further.

Noting Azerbaijan as a member of the international organizations, the Secretary General praised the country's economin growth. Mr Ayala noted he got acquainted with Azerbaijan’s economic indicators and eye witnessed everyone’s benefit from this development.

Touching upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Secretary-General stressed the importance of continuing the dialogue to solve the problem. "We support the activities of the OSCE Minsk Group", he added
