President of Mongolia Mr Elbegdorj has held Thursday official talks with President of the French Republic Mr Francois Hollande. Before the talks, the State of France thanked his guest for visiting France in these difficult times and underlined that Mongolia is a privileged partner of France in Asia.
He emphasized that the democratic values unite the two countries and has expressed his intention to attend the 11th ASEM Summit that will be held in Ulaanbaatar next year.
In his turn, Mongolian President highlighted that he is pleased to pay an official visit to France on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Mr Elbegdorj also spoke about his initiative on Mongolia's permanent neutrality policy. In response, Mr Hollande said he sees this policy as important in strengthening the democracy.
On the same day, a ceremony took place Thursday to sign documents on the Mongolia-France relations and cooperation after the official talks. The two Presidents inked the joint statement that concludes a present situation of the bilateral relations and cooperation and determines goals of the ties in several directions. The two sides established intergovernmental agreements on the cooperation in education, culture and science sectors and on exploiting capitals from food aid fund of France.
On the same day, some French citizens have been awarded state prizes of Mongolia on occasion of the 50th anniversary bilateral diplomatic relations for significant contributions to the Mongolia-France relations.
According to the decree of Mongolian President, the Polar Star Order went to Mr Erik Masse, a member of the Rubrouck city-based France-Mongolia friendship society and to Mr Negr Jacques, a hospital manager in Orleans city.
The “Friendship” medal went to others from the Rubrouck city-based France-Mongolia Friendship Society.
