President of Azerbaijan receives French minister of culture
Baku, March 9 (AzerTAc). President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan today received the delegation led by the French minister of culture and communication Frederick Mitterrand.
The head of Azerbaijani state noted successful development of the relations between Azerbaijan and France in versatile fields, including in the field of culture.
Speaking of cultural events the President said they have great importance for quick development of the relations. The forthcoming exhibition to be arranged in Baku will also serve strengthening of bilateral ties, President Aliyev said. From this point of view, according to the President, the current visit of the French minister of culture will have certain impact on expansion of relations.
The French minister expressed pleasure with his visit to Azerbaijan, saying it was great honor for him to be received by the head of the Azerbaijani state, worthy successor of the national leader Heydar Aliyev.
The Minister praised activity of the First Lady of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s president Mehriban Aliyeva in the cultural field reminding the initiatives and presentations to popularize Azerbaijan in France. Noting the exhibition “French art from Renaissance to nowadays” is also initiated and supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Mitterrand stressed the necessity of expansion of cultural cooperation in numerous directions.
