President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today attended the opening of Siyazan-Mashrif highway.

The road, which connects several residential areas, was in poor condition. Seven and then 5.7 million manats were allocated from the Contingency Fund of the for the repair of the road under the head of state's orders.

The construction started in October 2012, and was completed this May.

The highway, which is 5 meters in width, was covered with 10-11-centimeter asphalt.

There are modern engineering and technical installations along the road. About 4,700 people will use Siyazan-Mashrif highway, which is 37.1 km in length and links 20 residential areas.

The head of state cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the highway.
