Nakhchivan, April 7 (AzerTAc). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today attended the inauguration of the Nakhchivan-Shahbuz-Batabat highway.
The Head of State viewed stands reflecting the technical and economic indicators of the road.
Chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov informed the President about the construction of the 88.8 km-highway, which has several bridges.
President Ilham Aliyev viewed a map of transport roads of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.
The Head of the State cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the Nakhchivan-Shahbuz-Batabat highway.
The Azerbaijani President then tested the highway by driving a car.
The 164 km long highway and 21 bridges were built in Nakhchivan in 2013. Some 12 bridges were reconstructed in the Autonomous Republic.
