President Ilham Aliyev inspects construction progress at Gazakh cement plant
Gazakh, April 12 (AzerTAc). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today visited the construction site of the Gazakh cement plant.
The construction of the plant started in 2010, with most of the work already completed.
The facility, whose total area is 56 hectares, is being constructed by Accord Industrial Construction and Investment Corporation and Azerbaijan International Bank.
The daily production capacity of the plant will be 2,500 tones, with the yearly output being 1 million tones.
The President viewed the factory`s model. He was informed on the production process.
The facility`s starting to operate will see cement imports to Azerbaijan decrease 30 per cent.
The engineering and consulting company of the project is Turkish SC Industry A. S. Chinese Sinoma will participate in the facility`s construction.
All raw material sites, which are necessary for the production of cement, lie close to the plant.
The complex will consist of 44 facilities, including 26 main buildings and 18 auxiliary buildings and installations.
The factory will create 650 jobs, with personnel to be trained by Turkish and Chinese experts.
The complex will also feature a 6-storeid 4-star hotel for engineers and workers, a 250-seat canteen, a 5-storied administrative building and a clinic.
The plant will produce cement using a drying method, which is more productive and profitable both from economic and environmental points of view.
President Ilham Aliyev praised the construction work.
