President Ilham Aliyev opens Palace of Marriage after major overhaul
Baku, July 5 (AzerTAc). President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva have today inaugurated the Palace of Marriage in Baku after redevelopment.
The Head of State cut a ribbon symbolizing the opening of the Palace, and toured it.
The Palace of Marriage was built in the early 20th century by Azerbaijani millionaire Murtuza Mukhtarov for his wife Lisa Tuganova. The designer was the Polish architect Jozef Plosko.
Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov informed the Head of State and Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva about the reconstruction work here.
He said the reconstruction of the Palace started in 2007. The rebuilding and design work was carried out by French, Italian and local specialists.
