President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by US Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Bridget Brink.

Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Bridget Brink stressed the fact that they had an opportunity to meet with President Ilham Aliyev following the discussions on the bilateral ties held between the presidents of the USA and Azerbaijan.

Bridget Brink said she has previously visited Azerbaijan, adding they are deeply impressed with the positive changes in the country.

The head of state said President of the USA Barack Obama recalled his visiting Azerbaijan as a senator 10 years ago as they exchanged views over the development of the bilateral relations on the sidelines of the recent G20 Antalya Summit.

President Ilham Aliyev noted that Azerbaijan and the USA have successfully cooperated in various fields over last years. The head of state emphasized the importance of relations in energy and regional security, economic development and other areas.

The sides exchanged views over the settlement of Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and the development of the relations between Azerbaijan and the US in energy, economic diversification, trade, education, agriculture, joint projects, fight against terrorism, human rights and democracy, and other fields.
