Baku, September 10 (AzerTAc). President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has reviewed school-lyceum No. 72 and secondary school No. 80 in Sabunchu District of Baku.
The head of state first reviewed school-lyceum No. 72 after major repair and reconstruction.
The President was informed that the two-storey facility was built in 1930. It functioned as a women’s gymnasium for several years. The school’s second block was built in 1989, while the third one in 2007. Major repair and reconstruction was carried out at the school this year. Some 1,235 students receive education at the facility, which has 45 classrooms. All classrooms and departments were reconstructed to the highest standards and fitted with necessary equipment and teaching aids. Modern heating and lighting systems were installed in the school. The gym is well-suited for hosting mini-football, basketball and volleyball tournaments.

President Ilham Aliyev then reviewed the additional block of secondary school No. 80 in Sabunchu District after major repair and reconstruction.
The head of state was informed about the work carried out in the school. Under instructions of President Ilham Aliyev, the three-storey 480-seat block was remodeled this year. It has 23 classrooms. The construction work was carried out in line with the highest standards.
It was noted that the school was fitted with necessary equipment and teaching aids. State-of-the-art lighting and heating systems were installed here. Landscaping work was carried out, green areas created in the area adjacent to the school.
The construction of new schools and additional blocks for educational institutions once again proves that educational reforms successfully continue in the country thanks to President Ilham Aliyev’s attention.
