President Ilham Aliyev visits tomb of national leader Heydar Aliyev
Baku, May 10 (AzerTAc). May 10 marks the 89th anniversary of the architect and founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan, world-renowned politician, national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Long queues of residents of Baku and other cities as well as foreign guests have been visiting the Alley of Honors since early hours of Tuesday to lay floral tributes at the national leader`s grave.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, the national leader`s family members and close friends also visited the Alley to pay tribute to him.
President Ilham Aliyev laid a wreath at national leader Heydar Aliyev`s tomb.
The anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed.
President Ilham Aliyev`s spouse Mehriban Aliyeva and family members laid flowers at the grave of the national leader.
Then, the Head of State and his family members also laid flowers at the graves of outstanding ophthalmologist Zarifa Aliyeva, prominent public figure Aziz Aliyev and famous doctor, scientist Tamerlan Aliyev.
Among those in attendance at the commemoration ceremony were Prime Minister Artur Rasizade, chairman of the Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov and Chief of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev, as well as ministers, heads of state committees and companies and MPs.
